Ya Ya, a seven-year-old panda and new mother of twins, “appeared tired” when nursing the younger cub in a patch of grass, the paper said.
Her head sagged, her paws separated and her baby fell to the ground next to her. The panda then rolled on to her side and crushed her baby beneath her.
“It was very sudden, but also unavoidable,” Guo Wei, panda department chief at Chongqing city zoo in the southwestern region of Chongqing, told the Chongqing Business News daily...adding that Ya Ya lacked motherhood experience.

Response: This brings all sorts of new panda issues to the forefront, including the new initiative to create panda parenting classes for inexperienced mothers such as Ya Ya, who is unfortunately not a member of the Ya Ya Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. In fact, perhaps if Ya Ya had the sisterhood to turn to for sassy advice and homespun solutions to common infant problems, she would have known that the solution to an infantile cub's inability to land on all fours and withstand a panda crushing is simply to rub moonshine on the cub's gums. All in all, this is a tragedy crushing the hearts of millions all over the globe.
P.S. Am I a horrible person?
